Better Together

Over the years, they've learned that the best results come from taking the time to think things through,

paying attention to the details, and considering how everything will work together—not just how it looks when the project is finished. It's an approach they carry with them into every job today.

Together, Keigun and Jacey bring different strengths, experiences, and perspectives to the table,

but they share the same values: work hard, do things right, keep learning,

and take pride in what you leave behind.

The Heart Behind the Work

Keigun and Jacey Johnson have been together since they were 15 years old.

In many ways, they have grown up together—building a life, raising a family, learning countless skills,

and discovering along the way that some of their favorite things to do are simply working on projects together and figuring things out as they go.

Their love for what they do today comes from many different places and from the people who helped shape them along the way.

Keigun grew up alongside his dad, who built log and stick-frame homes. From an early age, he was surrounded by building,              problem-solving, and working with his hands. He went on to spend more than a decade working in a gravel pit, operating heavy equipment and eventually becoming a site foreman. During that time, he built a strong reputation throughout the company for his work ethic, knowledge, and attention to detail. He was known for maintaining some of the safest, cleanest, and most productive crushers in the company and earned the respect of coworkers, MSHA, and the trucking companies that came through his pit.

That experience gave Keigun an extensive understanding of equipment, grading, drainage, and how things work from the ground up. But one of his greatest strengths is his natural curiosity. He genuinely enjoys understanding how things work and figuring out how to make them work better.

He's a true jack-of-all-trades—the kind of person people call when something needs to be figured out, fixed, built, or improved.

He's the kind of guy you want working on your job.

For more than a decade, Jacey worked in an orthodontic office, with a couple of breaks along the way to stay home

with their children. While it may seem like a completely different world from outdoor services, the experience gave

her many skills that have carried directly into the business.

As an introvert, working in a busy orthodontic office pushed Jacey outside of her comfort zone and taught her how to communicate confidently, work with all kinds of people, and build genuine relationships. The fast-paced environment taught her that every second counts, and she became naturally focused on efficiency and finding better ways to accomplish a task.

She was fortunate to work in an office that valued growth, technology, and staying current. Over the years, she learned to adapt quickly, problem-solve, and step into nearly any position where she was needed. She developed a strong work ethic and a reputation for being dependable, kind, and willing to learn.

Although she genuinely enjoyed the work and the people she worked with, the mental demands eventually became exhausting, especially after having children. Looking back, many of the skills she developed there have become an important part of Johnson Outdoor Services—communication, organization, efficiency, adaptability, attention to detail, and genuinely caring about the people she works with.

Jacey has always loved creating things and learning new skills, often picking up new hobbies and crafts just for the fun of figuring them out. She also developed a love for gardening through the influence of Keigun's mom and grandmother, whose gardens gave her an appreciation for plants and the creativity that comes with designing and caring for a space.

After spending so many years together, Keigun and Jacey have naturally learned from one another. Their strengths are different, but they complement each other well. They bounce ideas back and forth, challenge each other to think things through, and genuinely enjoy learning new skills together.

They're both DIYers at heart—the kind of people who would rather buy the supplies, do the research, and figure out how to do something themselves. Their own yard became one of the best examples of that.

They removed a tree, stripped out the existing grass and weeds, and completely reworked and leveled the yard. They installed their own sprinkler system, designed new garden spaces with drip irrigation, planted trees, established new grass, and finished everything with a concrete border.

They received so many comments about how professional the finished yard looked that it helped them realize just how much they enjoyed this kind of work. And for them, it isn't simply about making something look good.

Johnson Outdoor Services is more than just a business to them.

It's something they're building together—one project, one customer, and one carefully finished detail at a time.
